December Sketch for Scrap our Stash

Hello lovelies,

It's time to show you my latest but also my last layout as part of Scrap our Stash design team.

 

The sketch was scary at first but I gave it a try and finally decided to keep only a few elements from it: the left sidebar, a paper thread circle and papers underneath my picture. I wanted to stay close to the color combo, so I used red and green from the list.  I also added stars made with modelling paste applied through a stencil, a flair and a small tag under it.

Scrap our Stash December Book Cover Inspiration

Good morning,

Here is December book cover, which is soooooooooo cool!

My main inspiration was the color combo. I chose a red striped paper from BoBunny Cottage collection from last year, some Double Dots leftover also from BoBunny, an Heidi Swapp black piece. To give more contrast, I used lime straws and Creative Embellishments painted in black. Finally, I added black enamel dots on my snowflakes, a few stickers as journaling and a heart flair. I reallly lOOOOve how this layout turned out.

I used the color combo from the list, these three colors together are such a great combination! Really love them! I used a paper from Ella & Viv for my background. Their papers are amazing, they are sturdy enough for any mixed media composition and the colors are bold and vivid. At first I was a bit scared by the sketch. Then, I went in my stash and tried to find elements and embellishments that would fit into it. And one by one, they fell into place, without me noticing that the sketch was really taking shape right under my eyes.  Happy scrapping times!

Book Cover Inspiration for Scrap our Stash in November

Voici l'inspiration livre sur Scrap our Stash en novembre. Avez-vous que l'image est craquante?
Here is November book cover inspiration on Scrap our Stash. How cute is this image?

Je n'ai pas pu m'empêcher d'utiliser un fond marine comme sur l'image. Le rouge m'a fait pensé à Noël et j'ai choisi une photo de mes cocos pendant le montage du sapin l'an dernier. J'ai opté pour une palette de couleur toute douce avec du turquoise et du mauve. Oui, oui, encore du mauve... je vous ai dit que cette couleur reviendrait souvent sur mes créations à l'avenir. Et bien sûr, je n'ai pas oublié les 3 étoiles.

Since the background color of the book cover was so inspiring, I decided to use a navy background for my layout. The red reminded me of Christmas and for the occasion I chose a picture of my little ones during our tree decoration session last year. I went with a soft palette using light teal and violet. Did I tell you that I Looove violet!!! Finally, I really like how this clean and simple layout turned out.

Scrap our Stash - October Sketch and Pick 3 List

Good morning,

Voici le sketch et la liste d'éléments dont nous devions nous inspirer en octobre sur Scrap our Stash.
Here is this month sketch and pick list we had to use to create our layout on Scrap our Stash.

 

 

Usually I tend to freely interprets sketches. But for once, I tried to stay close to this one, and I didn't use any medium on my layout! I like to do it once in a while as I'm still a big fan of traditional scrapbooking. I love using patterned papers to create an harmonious layout.

 

From the Pick Lists, I chose Desert (Kraft and desert are pretty similar, right?)

I also picked the envelop, one as a badge (this one was too easy!), but I also created one that is tucked behind my pictures.

Finally, I went with flowers, since they are my favorite embellishments.

I was inspired by the color scheme -cream, rust, deep turquoise - what a great combo for a fall layout! I used Prima natural cord, this month's twist, to circle my picture and emphasize it. My background is made of masking tape, modelling paste and sprays.

Scrap copines, vous connaissez toutes ou presque ma hantise de la couleur mauve. Sans que je m'en rende vraiment compte et pour je ne sais quelle raison exactement, je suis obsédée par cette couleur depuis quelques temps. Je la mettrais sur toutes mes créations... celle-ci n'échappe donc pas à ma folie du moment!!! Soyez donc averties, la couleur mauve est tendance! LOLL

 

 

Dans la liste, j'ai choisi Authentique (le papier gris derrière ma photo). Noir, évidemment. Et beaucoup d'embelllissements Crate Paper, ils sont tellllllllllllleeement cute.

 



 



My scrappy friends would tell you I have a thing with the color purple... Until a few weeks ago, this color was amongst the worst in my scrapbooking color scheme. But lately, I'm kind of obsessed with it. I would use it on every single layout I produce... this one is no exception. Be prepared, purple is the new black! My new black! LOLL

From the list, I chose Authentique (the tiny grey paper behind my photo). Black, of course! And a lot of Crate Paper embellishments, aren't they the cutest.

Voici l'inspiration livre du mois de septembre sur Scrap our Stash. Quelle belle teinte de jaune, une couleur que je devrais utiliser plus souvent, ça donne du peps! En plus de l'image, nous devions intégrer des pages ou des motifs de livre. J'ai déchiré quelques pages d'un vieux dictionnaire et je les ai roulé pour faire des pailles que j'ai placé sous ma photo. Bonne rentrée à tous!


Here is the book inspiration for September on Scrap our Stash. What a beautiful shade of yellow, a color I should use more often. It's so vibrant and dynamic. We also had to use paper book or prints on our layout. I torn a few pages from an old dictionary and created straws that I tucked under my picture. Happy back to school!

August sketch and pick 3 for Scrap our Stash

Bonjour!

Me voici de retour après une petite pause de quelques semaines, le temps d'admirer de merveilleux paysages et de profiter du beau temps exceptionnel.

Je dois avouer que le sketch d'août m'a donné énormément de fil à retordre... Un mauvais sort a dû s'abattre sur moi au moment de faire ma création, car j'ai dû la recommencer 3 fois... presque 4!!! J'ai échappé mon pad d'encre noire sur ma page à deux reprises, la troisième une étampe chargée d'encre est tombée au milieu de ma page... et la quatrième, de grosses goulettes noires au mauvais endroit...
J'ai décidé de camoufler celles-ci sous mon titre, ni vu ni connu... ou enfin presque!

Parmi la liste d'éléments à choisr, j'ai opté pour le vélin, le washi et la lettre X.


Back to you after a few week vacation break, where I had the chance to see wonderful landscapes and enjoy the exceptional weather this summer brought.

I must confess that I had a LOT of difficulties creating this layout... I don't know if it was misfortune or something else, but I had to start over this project three times... almost four! Unbelievable!!! The first two times, I dropped my ink pad on my paper, the third, a stamp full of ink in the middle of it and the fourth, ink splatters at the wrong place... I hid these under my title, this way nobody can notice them... or almost!

From the pick list, I chose Vellum, Washi tape and the letter X. And several manufacturer of course, but this one was easy.

Book Cover Inspiration d'août à Scrap our Stash

Hello lovelies!

Voici l'image de livre à utiliser pour notre premier post en août! Quelle belle image inspirante, vous ne trouvez pas?

Here is the book cover inspiration that we had to used for our first post in August. Isn't it pretty inspiring, don't you think?

When I first saw this book cover, I immediatly knew what paper I would be using for this layout... It was going to be  THE perfect background for this occasion! And then, when time came to create... there was no such paper in my stash... Either I've lost it or I've already used it for a previous project. LOL! Well... Since map papers aren't quite common (in my stash, at least), I would have to figure something else, but what? I dag, and dag my stash and finally found a Prima map stamp that had never been used. The moment had come!!! I randomly stamped it over my white gesso and that was it, I had used map on my layout. Sometimes, we have to think outside of the box!

Voici le sketch que nous avions à interpréter en juillet sur Scrap our Stash.
Here is the sketch for July on Scrap our Stash.

 

J'ai choisi Simple Stories, Timberwolf et Ultramarine comme éléments principaux dans les trois listes. J'ai opté pour une page clean & simple avec beaucoup d'espace blanc autour de ma photo. Les papiers Simple Stories étaient parfaits pour accompagner cette photo de mon mini à la plage. Ils dormaient dans mes tiroirs depuis quelques années.

From the three lists, I've chose Simple Stories, Timberwolf and Ultramarine. I went for a minimal clean and simple layout leaving a lot of white space around my picture. The Simple Stories papers were perfect for this beach picture of my youngest son. I've had this collection for a couple of years and it was pratically unused.

Et voici ma page, tout en douceur! Les couleurs m'ont grandement inspiré. J'ai choisi un style clean & simple pour laisser toute la place à cette magnifique photo de mon grand garçon et moi. J'ai étampé, légèrement peint et découpé mes fleurs. Je les ai disposé de manière à faire une lit de fleurs autour de ma photo.

 

Here is my layout, made of soft colors. I was mainly inspired by the colors. I chose a clean & simple layout to let this beautiful picture of my oldest son and me be the main attraction. I stamped, light painted and cut the flowers and placed them around the picture to create a kind of flower bed.

Scrap our stash - Sketch + 3 challenge

Voici le sketch +3 challenge dont nous devions nous inspirer en juin sur Scrap our Stash.
Here is the sketch +3 challenge that we had to use in June on Scrap our Stash.

Au départ, le sketch m'a un peu effrayé... je l'ai mis de côté et finalement, j'ai décidé d'utiliser la mise en page diagonale comme point de départ et d'y ai inséré une photo plutôt que plusieurs. J'ai ensuite pigé bon nombre d'éléments de la liste pour mater ma photo... Le motifs à pois, les couleurs prune et quartz, une citation ainsi que des rubs-on... beaucoup de rubs-on que j'ai utilisé un peu à la manière d'une étampe de fond.

At first, I had a hard time figuring how I would interpret this sketch. After putting it aside, I've decided to use the diagonal background and only one picture as a focal point. I then picked several elements from the lists... polka dots, plum and quartz colors, a quote and rub-ons... a lot of them! I used them to compose my background exactly the same I usually to with stamps.

Scrap our Stash - Book Cover Inspiration Juin

Voici la page couverture dont nous devions nous inspirer sur Scrap our Stash en juin.
Here is June Book Cover Inspiration.

Évidemment, j'ai en profité pour utiliser une photo de mon amoureux, qui est un très bon papa avec nos deux fils.
Nous devions également utiliser la couleur jaune sur notre page. Ce fut mon point de départ et j'ai finalement utilisé plusieurs teintes de jaune, du pâle au foncé et combiné avec de l'ocre et du brun. J'ai complété l'ensemble avec des fleurs en dentelle, des embelllissements métalliques, des enamel dots, des chipboard teints, des fleurs en papier et du coton fromage. J'aime beaucoup le style vintage de cette page. Ça fait du bien de sortir de sa zone de confort parfois.

Of course I had to use a picture of my husband, who is a wonderful dad to our 2 little boys. My starting point was the pops of yellow. I used several shades of yellow, from pale to dark, combined with ocre and  brown. I added flower lace, metal embellishments, enamel dots, teinted chipboards, paper flowers and cheese cloth. I really like the vintage feeling and look of this layout. It's fun to get out of our comfort zone once in a while.

Scrap our Stash Sketch and Pick List Layout

Aujourd'hui je vous présente une petite pagounette à thématique nautique pour mon DT Scrap our Stash.

 

 

Mis à part les couleurs, j'ai utilisé plusieurs éléments des trois listes. Mon papier bleu à pois vient d'une très ancienne collection de MME. J'ai placé une petite ancre en métal dans le coin supérieur gauche. J'ai collé plusieurs morceaux de tissue wrap avec un motif journal  Tim Holtz sur mon fond, qui provient de la compagnie October Afternoon, l'une de mes favorites depuis toujours.

 

Other than the colors, I used several elements from the three lists. The blue polka dots paper is from an old MME collection. I placed a metal anchor in the upper left corner. I clued several pièces of Tim Holtz newsprint tissue wrap on my background, which is a paper from October Afternoon, one of my favorite scrapbooking company, ever!

 

 

Scrap our Stash - May Book Cover Inspiration

Encore une fois ce mois-ci, la page couverture dont nous devions nous inspirer est magnifique. Les couleurs, le paysage, tout y est splendide!

Je suis tombée par hasard sur cette toute petite photo de New York, prise il y a déjà très longtemps,  que je n'ai jamais eu l'occasion de scrapper... Ce jour est enfin arrivé!!! Comme ma photo est pratiquement complètement noire, j'ai utilisé le combo couleur de la page couverture pour équilibrer ma page. J'ai adossé ma photo à du coton fromage et j'ai utilisé des fleurs, du fil et des cristaux comme embellissements.


Once again this month, our book cover inspiration is absolutely stunning! The colors, the scenery, everything is gorgeous! I love, love it!!!

While I was searching my stash for a landscape picture, I found this tiny little picture of New York I took long time ago, but never get the chance to scrap. Well, well... that day had finally come! Since my picture is mostly black, I decided to use the color scheme from the book cover to balance my layout. I used a piece of cheese cloth, flowers, thread and crystals as embellishments.

Scrapbooking National Day - Scrap our Stash

Bonjour,

Le blogue Scrap our Stash célébre la journée nationale du scrapbooking en collaboration avec The ScrapRoom.

Nous devions nous inspirer de l'un des 5 sketchs choisis ainsi que choisir des éléments à partir du mot STASH.
J'ai donc utilisé des broches (staples), des étiquettes (tags), des flèches (arrows), un stencil et de la corde (hemp cord).

We have to create using one of the 5 sketches and chose elements for the word STASH.

Sketch Scrap our stash d'avril

Bonjour,

Je vous présente ma page réalisée à partir du sketch d'avril sur Scrap our Stash.

Here is my layout for April sketch at Scrap our Stash.

 

Pour réaliser ma bande horizontale, j'ai collé des morceaux de rubans à masquer et à joint sur lesquels j'ai ensuite appliqué une couche de gesso blanc. Une fois ce dernier sec, à l'aide d'un pinceau, j'ai appliqué des encres de couleur jade, lavande et rose foncé sur le dessus. J'ai complété ma page avec une forme ronde en résine, du fil métallique, des tags, un chipboard, des fleurs et des enamel dots. Ce combo m'a un peu ennuyé au départ parce que j'utilise très peu la couleur mauve. Mais en fin de compte, j'aime beaucoup ma page. La couleur lavande apporte une touche de douceur à ma page.

 

 

This month my +3 are jade, crimson and lavender.

I've created my horizontal line with pieces of masking and joint tapes that I covered with white gesso. When it was dry, using a brush, I've added jade, lavendar and dark pink sprays to my composition. To complete my layout, I glued down a round resine shape, wire thread, tags, chipboard, flowers and red enamel dots. At first I was a bit scared since I rarely use purple. But in the end, I really love my layout. Lavender brings a lot of softness to my page.

 



Book Cover Inspiration - Scrap our Stash

Bon lundi matin!

Je vous présente la magnifique inspiration livre de Scrap our Stash d'avril. Je suis tombée sous le charme de ses couleurs chaudes.J'ai décidé de sortir de ma zone de confort et d'opter pour une dominance orange sur ma page... une couleur que j'utilise très peu normalement. J'ai peint en blanc quelques vieux chipboard de nuages Maya Road que j'ai intégré à mes fleurs.


Here is the stunning Scrap our Stash book cover for April.
I fell in love with those warm colors. They are gorgeous!
I chose orange as my dominant color, a color I do not use often, I must admit.  Totally out of my comfort zone. I also used a few old Maya Road cloud chipboard to complete my flower compositions.

Sketch Scrap our Stash

Voici le magnifique sketch à partir duquel j'ai créé ma seconde page de mars pour Scrap our Stash.
Here is the fabulous sketch that was my starting point for my second Scrap our Stash layout in March.



Les doilies et tags ont été ma principale source d'inspiration pour ma page. J'ai utilisé un grand nombre de fleurs pour remplacer les deux photos du bas. Les couleurs or et rose des listes 1 et 2 apportent un équilibre à mon fond blanc et noir. J'ai également utilisé deux couleurs d'encre rose pour ajouter une touche d'éclat derrière mes doilies.


This month, I was mainly inspired by the doilies and tags from the sketch. I've used a bunch of flowers to replace the lower 2 pictures. The pink and gold colors from the lists balance my black and white background paper. I also used two pink inks for add a touch of color behind the doilies.
